Secret FOOD Shoppers

Help Grow the HEALTHY FOOD MOVEMENT

Exploring FOOD Value

HOME COOK HOOK-UPS WITH LOCAL FARMERS

Heh there, did you know that FARMING… THE ORIGINAL UNDERGROUND MOVEMENT needs a little help? …FOODIES do too.

People who value their health love our new social exploration into natural food. We’re on a quest for VOLUNTEER BEES to keep the hive humming. Our research explores how market garden farmers and independent grocers share information with customers – specifically about fresh produce and meat.

We’re a BOOTSTRAP GRASSROOTS volunteer project, which means that unfortunately, we aren’t able to pay you to be a Secret Shopper or for the food you buy for personal consumption. We will however, share your collective comments and wisdom, anonymously of course, hence the word secret, so neighbors everywhere can learn collectively from your experience and insight.

Your feedback… will make a difference!

As a Secret Shopper Reward, we’ll provide you with you an insider’s compilation of the data from other secret shoppers like you, which will expand your knowledge and awareness even further.

Although it’s not necessary for you to have any type of specialized food or farming knowledge, it’s an especially exciting exploration for FOODIES and HOME COOKS who have taken alternative agriculture courses like organics, permaculture, regenerative, biodynamic, syntropic and others. Urban Gardeners with advanced cooking skills and an appreciation for healthy cooking will also find it interesting and highly informative.

Our strategy is simple and easy to manage. All you have to do is shop for fresh produce and meat exactly like you always do, but this time ask a few basic questions of the person selling the food, and do it in a way that will help us gauge how much they share about their produce and meat. In other words, are they just pushing low quality food out as fast as possible for profit, or do they really care about producing healthy food for knowledgeable local shoppers?

Here’s How You Can Help…

As a Secret Shopper, you don’t have to purchase anything. All you have to do is ask about the food and write about your sales experience. If you want to buy and eat it, great! If not, no worries. We just want to know what market garden farmers are telling consumers about how they grow their food. Think of it as a very friendly and pleasant exchange that gives you deeper insight into high quality natural food.

We’re curious how farmers display and describe their food, especially about HOW IT’S GROWN.

For example; Did the farmer describe it as ripe, organic, sweet, nutrient-dense, dry, regenerative, a good deal, sprayed with chemicals, etc., or anything else you might deem important. If they were too busy to take time to explain their process, or ignored a question, we want to hear that too.

Special education or experience is not necessary. All you need is genuine interest and a bit of experience as a home cook.

Our SECRET Survey Means – SHH

Unfortunately, we can’t share details until you’re confirmed to be part of our social exploration.

If you’re a CHEF… we’re stoked about your very unique perspective and value your experience and professional expertise!

We’ll organize the data and compile a comprehensive report for everyone who contributes, plus edit a version for community audiences.
