    GOOD vs BAD Farmers

Finding a farmer you can trust like a friend or family, is hard.

Discriminating CHEFS , HOME COOKS, ATHLETES, and EXECUTIVES looking for HIGH PERFORMANCE FOOD TO FUEL BODIES & BRAINS often ask about farmers I rely on.

Smart people no longer trust BIG BOX grocers. Those who value their health, source high quality nutrient-dense food directly from farmers they regard as friends–some even grow food at home.

In order to source healthy food you have to know a farmer’s philosophy, and how they operate in their fields.

Not all food is good food,
    and not all farmers
    are good farmers.

    Old MacDonald HAD a farm.

Young MacDonald sings a different ditty… Ai, Ai O.

Food consumers already confused about organic certifications now have to also figure out regenerative farming, and it’s causing even greater frustration – so we decided to do something about it.

The challenge for everyone is that it’s difficult to know whom to trust.

A little inside intel goes a long way!

We make it easier for you by
    RATING LOCAL FARMERS

Farmers who grow and raise high quality food, LOVE IT when they’re easier to find.

Farmers don’t have to add themselves. You’re rated automatically. A farmer simply VERIFIES their rating or lets us know if they feel something needs to be adjusted. Sometimes we miss the mark, so we always reconsider when the farmer expresses legitimate concern.

    Our GIFT of CLARITY…
    for FOODIES & FARMERS
    is as simple as A B C !

It’s important to know if your farmer is a visionary… or simply following the crowd.

When a farmer is smart, you benefit, but when not, you’re on a perpetual pesticide drip.

    WE ARE WHAT WE EAT
    is about eating healthy food.

A farmer as a friend can help make your life longer, easier, healthier, and happier.

First though, you have to find a farmer you can trust, which is harder than you might imagine considering the high number of farmers and vast differences in alternative agricultural styles. If you’re stumped let us know. We can help.

The farmers we review and rate run the gamut from Aplus+ Certified Organic Regen, and also B farmers who fastidiously practice Organics, but not regenerative farming that helps heal soil. They MIGHT be certified, but not necessarily (NOT” is encouraged in high-quality Alt-AG local food circles that adopt the honour system)

Our lowest rating is C for ChemFarms that use pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and all the other “…cides”. B designates a transitioning farmer who is weaning their farm off chemicals.

We rate commercial chemical farmers for other reasons too, like trying to fool consumers; C

*If a farmer is not on our proprietary list it might mean they’re rated C, or… we simply haven’t added them yet as an A or B farmer. We don’t publish our list because it’s used as a competitive list for our clients, but for a small fee we will let you know how we rated a farmer if the data is available. You can also contract us to rate a specific farmer.

To Recap: If a farmer is *CERTIFIED* Organic AND Regenerative, or they use other alternative agriculture processes like Permaculture, Biodynamic, Syntropic, or Food Forests et al, they rate Aplus+ our TOP SPOT!

If a farmer uses one of the alternative agriculture processes like Organics, Regenerative, Permaculture, Biodynamic, Syntropic, et al., but is NOT CERTIFIED, we think you’re incredibly important too… even more so from a political perspective, so your rating is A+…also a highly coveted and respected designation.

Most Alt-AG farmers will be in our high-quality A category.

B farmers are ORGANIC, certified or not. They don’t use any Alt-AG processes like regen. Organic is still healthy food of course, but Alt-AG like regen is way better than organic for a number of reasons, like nutrient density and soil health.

C farmers use chemicals, which means we usually avoid them, but there are exceptions.

Our FARMER RATINGS are a work-in-progress.

Ask us if you’d like to know a rating, or to be rated.

If you have a COMMENT, please stay on-topic about the PROCESS of RATING FARMERS and don’t make it personal about a specific farmer.

For clarity, this is OUR RATING SYSTEM for our specific business use.

    We share our opinion for *two main reasons;

1/ To help CONSUMERS sort through the chaos

2/ To help INVESTORS monitor good farmers

*without CONSUMERS and INVESTORS Alt-AG like permaculture or regen will fail.
